O Dreamland was a contemporary arts festival curated by Cathy Lomax of Transition Gallery that took place in Greatstone Kent in 2007.
The title was taken from Lindsay Anderson’s short Cinema documentary made in 1950s Margate about the Dreamland pleasure park. The festival took a subversive yet affectionate look at British seaside culture.
“O’Connor’s culturally significant work involves writing, sound and objects in a combination of fact and fiction. For O Dreamland he is producing Radio Sunshine: from the crumbling remains of British seaside culture, rises a truly magnificent candy-floss on a big stick. With music performed by Peter Hollingsworth of the Princelings, poetry from martin Figura and Helen Ivory, and live reports from coastal flaneur, Rag Rowlinson.”
